Helena Township is excited to partner Scott County share a Rural Clean-up & Recycling Day on Saturday,  June 13, 2026 from 8am - 12pm. The event will be at the Household Hazardous Waste Facility, located at 588 Country Trail E, Jordan, MN 55352

In addition to what is usually accepted at the HHW, they will also accept the following for free that day from residents. We also have some funding from Mosquito Control to offer free tire disposal to township residents… see MMCD guidelines at https://mmcd.org/tire-recycling/

1. Mattresses (Second Chance)
2. Paper Shredding Event (Veteran Shredding)
3. Furniture for Reuse (Bridging via Certified)
4. Furniture for recycling (Certified)
5. Clothing and textiles for reuse or recycling (CAP Agency)
6. Styrofoam (Coon Rapids)
7. Prescription Pill Bottles (Ridwell)
8. Multilayer film plastic (Ridwell)
9. Bulky Ridged Plastics (tubs, buckets, and toys)
10. Mixed Recycling
11. Boat Wrap

There will be a junk removal company there to accept non-recyclable material from residents for a fee.  Below is the list of items we already accept at the HHW.

1. Major Appliances ($10.00)
2. Tires ($5,00, $15.00, and $50.00)
3. TVs and Computer Monitors ($10.00)
4. All Other Electronics (Free)
5. Coffee pots, light fixtures, vacuums, fans (free)
6. All Batteries (Free) *please let HHW staff if you have damaged or large Li Ion batteries (>500 Wh)
7. All Light Bulbs (free)
8. All chemicals, Paints, and pesticides (free)
9. Shredded paper (free)
10. Cardboard (free)
11. Small engines, lawn mowers, grills, etc.
12. Scrap metal
13. Medical Sharps
14. Aerosols, propane tanks, etc.
15. Christmas lights
16. Plastic bags and film
