The Jordan Rural Fire Association Meeting was called to order by Fire Chief Greg Pekarna at 7 p.m. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

Chairperson John Wermerskirchen, Supervisor DeAnn Croatt, and Clerk Heather Taylor DuCharme were present from Helena Township. Also present were representatives from Sand Creek Township, St. Lawrence Township, Belle Plaine Township, City of Jordan, Jordan Fire Department, and Jordan Fire Relief Association.

The following was discussed at the meeting:

1.       Report and budget provided by email prior to meeting. Request made for additional information regarding income, expenses, profit/loss, and application of Township payments.

2.       Proposal by Pekarna of option regarding using Township credits calculated from overpayment of proposed budget be held as contingency funds for future expenses to be used as directed by each Township.

3.       Fire Relief Association, gambling proceedings/use, and pension contributions.

4.       State aid and grants received and how applied, including information received from State Fire Marshall at MAT Conference.

5.       Equipment and vehicle purchases and planned replacement and/or decommissioning of equipment and vehicles. New truck expected in approximately 2028 but vendor may use as a demo for the first year and the value of use may be used to offset cost of the truck. Possible application and use of proceeds received from disposal of decommissioned equipment/vehicles.

6.       Mutual aid contracts renewed between neighboring cities.

7.       Staffing for Jordan Fire and availability of crew from mutual aid departments.

8.       On call versus full time departments and costs.

At 8:06 p.m. and with the agreement of all present, Pekarna adjourned the meeting.
