Meeting Minutes:

Scott County Township Association

Spring Lake Town Hall

Wednesday, 9/30/2026, 7:00 p.m.

The meeting was called to order by Chair Ted Kornder; pledge was recited. Agenda was approved as amended (changing the order of speakers/presenters).

All townships were represented. Present from Helena: John Wermerskirchen, Edward Nytes, DeAnn Croatt, Jeff Haag, Heather M. Taylor DuCHarme.

Minutes and Treasurer’s Report were approved. Going forward, SCTA meetings will be the 3^rd Wednesday of March and the 3^rd Wednesday of September. Motion to approve use of SCTA funds to buy snacks for meetings; approved unanimously.

Scott County Commissioners Weckman Brekke, Wolf, Beer, and Brennan reported on and discussed status of Scott County, data centers, BES, AI, levy, and economy of scale savings related issues.

Joe Wiita Scott County Highway Maintenance presented and answered questions regarding road salt procurement and related matters.

Troy Kuphal and Geoff Popken from Soil and Water presented and answered questions related to the Township Weed and Brush Program and Wetland Conservation Act statutory changes.

MAT District 4 Director Diane Johnson provided updates from MAT.

The meeting was adjourned at approximately 8:30 p.m.
