The meeting was opened by representatives from Scott County at 6 p.m.
Present were Chairperson John Wermerskirchen, Supervisor Edward Nytes, Supervisor DeAnn Croatt, Clerk Heather Taylor DuCharme, representatives from Scott County, representatives from the Town Board for Blakely Township and representatives from the Town Board of Belle Plaine Township.
Representatives from Scott County reviewed the prior comprehensive plans, discussed updates and changes for future comprehensive plans, and requested feedback from the Townships. Discussion included: 1. Comparison of 2050 to 2040 plans. 2. Met Council requirements for updates. 3. Forecasting, development, parks and trails, and wastewater management. 4. History and need for comp plan as legal foundation for ordinance and zoning. 5. Population projections (currently trending lower than 2040). 6. Development and building density. 7. Cannabis. 8. Turn backs and annexation. 9. Zoning.
At 8 p.m. the meeting was closed by Scott County representatives.
